Working the trauma service can be feast or famine. Gunshot wounds, stabbings, auto accidents; their arrival at the hospital is sporadic and unpredictable. The ambulances are either coming so fast, dropping the latest shattered body off; or you are insufferably bored. Sometimes it depends on the day of the week, the time of day, the season of the year.
